CLICK HERE TO BOOK YOUR THEORY TEST OR FOR MORE INFORMATION
This information has been taken from the GOV.UK website which is the best resource for first hand advice about the theory test.
You should use GOV.UK and the links contained in it to book your theory and practical driving tests.
BE AWARE there are some websites which will charge you much more than you actually need to pay to book your tests and although they may LOOK official they are simply charging you extra for doing what you can do perfectly well yourself.
If you want to drive a car or ride a motorcycle you’ll need to pass the driving theory test before booking either the car practical driving test or the motorcycle practical test. As one of my learner drivers I can give you free access to THEORY TEST PRO so that you can prepare for your Theory test. All I need from you is your email address.
There are 2 parts to the theory test:
- the multiple choice part
- the hazard perception part
Both parts of the test are taken on the same day. The questions in the multiple-choice part and format of the hazard perception part depend on what kind of vehicle you want to drive.
You need to pass both to pass the theory test.
You can take the shorter ‘abridged’ car theory test if you’ve got the Safe Road User Award.
The theory test pass certificate
You’ll then get a theory test pass certificate. You’ll need the certificate number when you book your practical test.
